Fiber from Green Mountain Spinning Wheels!
Erv and Jack on Shearing Day!
The Francoeur family is proud to sell the finest in alpaca and alpaca/wool rovings. Most of our alpaca rovings come from our own alpacas. Our alpaca/wool mix rovings are a mixture of our alpaca fiber (50-75%) and local sheep wool (25-50%). All fiber is carefully cleaned and carded by Zeilinger Wool Company (www.zwool.com), or by Vermont Fiber Factory in Bristol, Vermont, and is ready to spin or use in felting projects. All of our rovings are of natural colors, with no additives or dyes, and spin, knit/crochet or felt beautifully. Our current color selection is listed below, but please contact us if you are looking for a specific color, as we may have some of it.
Currently we are selling our rovings in six ounce packages. Please contact us if you would like a larger amount of a particular roving.
We ship our products via FedEx Ground or US Postal Service parcel post, and therefore, it may take up to 7 business days for your order to arrive once it is shipped. If you would like your order to be shipped via a faster method, please let us know, and we will bill you via Paypal invoice for the added shipping cost. You will receive an email from us when your order has shipped. Whenever possible, we use recycled boxes and shipping materials as part of our goal of being as green as possible as a company.

Examples of Yarn Hand-spun from our Rovings
We not only sell our rovings, we dye them, spin with them, and knit and crochet with them! Below, please find a photo album of some of the yarns we have made with our rovings, or rovings we have dyed, listing which fibers were used. All yarns were spun on our own Otter Creek Wheels!
Part of our mission at Green Mountain Spinning Wheels is to support hand-spinning in general. We offer spinning lessons to beginners, as well as custom repairs for older or antique spinning wheels. Please contact us for more information.
